Sealant on 6 Speed Drain Plug
A while ago, I got this page from this forum. It talks about our 6 speed tranny. I'm getting ready to drain the oil in the transmission and put new in. On this page, it says you need to apply sealant to the drain plug when you put it back in.
Have all of you guys done this? If so, where can I get some of this sealant?
Also, I have the part number for the Mopar Oil for the transmission, but to any of you know the weight of it?
Thanks.

If you drain through the pto cover, the bottom center bolt is the drain. That bolt hole goes into the transmission to allow the fluid to drain where the other bolts go into the case of the transmission. I removed the entire cover, instead of just removing the one bolt, so when I put the rtv sealant around the cover, I made sure I spanned the holes to allow the bolt to seal.
You can get rtv sealant at any parts store or at a dodge dealer.
I used Redline MTL, so I dont know the mopar weight.

i used dowcorning 832 on the pto cover to seal it, and some permatex #2 on the bolt threads to seal it... you could use the permatex#2 on the everything, but i wanted to try out the dow 832 stuff...
