Rear D80 spindle nut
Hi all,
Some of you may have seen my post where I broke the spider gears in my dana 80. I'm trying to put the spare rearend in, and I've come to realize that I must remove the rear bearing hubs, since the backing plate won't fit over it. That spindle nut is a big sonofabitch, and it looks to have rounded edges. What do I need to do this? I'd like to reuse the bearings off the bad axle on the other one, since I know those bearings are good. What tool do I need to remove the old spindle nuts, and where is a good place to get a set of new ones?

This may be a shot in the dark where you live but I ran into the same darn problem and I was broke so i went into my local dodge dealer and politely asked if I could barrow the socket that I needed. The service manager was nice enough to loan me one for a day and all I had to do was let him take a copy of my picture ID. I thought that was really nice of them.
