Prodigy Wiring Problems Please Help
ok ya'll i am dumb founded . i got the prodigy form tekonsha and installed it myself. i got the direct plug harness so it would be easy. i went to get my new-used trailer today and when i hook up the trailer i got the n.c. code. no connection. i tried fuses and all i could think of. i put a multi-meter on the 2 prongs of the truck that were suppose to activate the trailer brakes and only read 4 milli-volts with the brakes pressed and again with the manual **** heard one guys say that i need to tie in the light blue wire that is hangin loose around the streeing colum and if so do i plug that one into the blue off of the prodigy or another color. the truck didn't come witht the tow prep pkg but had the hitch and 7-way installed. the plug for the harness was there in the right spot and hooked right up. all lights signals are working on the trailer when they are hooked up the the 7-way. whats the problem? can you folks please help me? truck is as follows:
06 2500HD HO CTD QUAD CAB AUTO SLT SPORT LWB 4X4 (ELEC.) MINERAL GREY K&N AIR FILTER WHEEL TO WHEEL CHROME REST STOCK

Wiring is as follows:
Prodigy Harness --> DC wiring harness
Blue --> Light Blue with no stripe
Red --> Light Blue with white stripe
Black --> White with Red stripe
White --> Green with Black stripe
The DC harness plugs into a blue connector under the dash located near the parking brake mechanism. The Prodigy is a digital unit that uses inertia to control the amount of voltage, so you will see very low voltage when testing and the vehicle is sitting. Also check that the brakes on the trailer are wired and wired properly. Check the grounds on the trailer and check and see if the trailer is grounded through the plug, do not assume that it will ground through the ball and tongue. Verify all the wiring on the trailer by using a spare battery and some wire (or jumper cables off your trucks battery) and touching each ( except the ground) and have someone watch for the lights and the clicking of the brakes. If the trailer is good, recheck the wiring of the plug and see if there is anything off there.
Hope this helps.

DTR's 'Go to Guy'
I had the same problem. Everything was wired correctly and everything . Make sure the fuse is installed in the underhood fuse box. Labeled Trailer, I think. Mine had factory tow, hitch, and 7 way, but the fuse had never been installed underhood. Put the fuse in and the brake controller was good!

New to the forum, just got my brand new 2008 2500 Cummins this week!
Just making sure I understand correctly here. I have the same situation (blue harness is there, but also a loose blue wire that looks like was added at the dealer, coming through the firewall)...the dealer installed the hitch and 7-pin since it didn't come that way from the factory for some reason. If I buy the Prodigy, and the compatible wiring harness for Dodge (which is supposed to be "plug and play"), I'm still not clear on what to do with this blue wire and want to make sure. Called the dealer and they said "bring it in, not sure what it is and need to see it" (they installed it, shouldn't they know?). At any rate, don't want to drive all the way there and instead found this thread. So, to confirm, if I purchase/install the Dodge compatible harness from Prodigy, do I need to cut into the blue wire coming from the Prodigy and attached it to the "loose" blue wire rather than the harness?
Thanks in advance!
