Power Wagon Motor Mounts

My '68 power wagon has a '93 Cummins in it. I currently have the cab and engine out for some up grades. One of the up grades is switching from a 10 speed to a 47RH transmission. The ten speed has mounts at the bell housing that support most the engine and tranny weight and easily handle the torque.

Since I have the engine out should I upgrade to 2nd generation motor mounts? Or will the first generation mounts handle the heavy towing that I plan on doing for years to come?

The engine is only turned up a little bit.

Thanks,
Mike

Anybody have any bad experiences with the '93 motor mounts? If so I'll change them out while I have it apart with the newer styles.

Thanks M-

2nd gen mounts are superior to the 1st gen mounts. If you have the ability to fab them in, by all means, go to that style.

Thank You Sir! Thats all I needed to be convinced to change them.

I can easily fab new frame mounts to hold the 2nd generation engine mounts but will they bolt up to the '93 block with no troubles?

I've seen this truck on HEF I think and now on here. I like this rig man. Hope to do something real similar with my '60 one day.

I found some 98.5-02 24 valve motor mounts for $65 will they bolt up?

Thanks 307, I drive the truck regularly but the woman still hasn't figured out the ten speed.... I figure if she hasn't figured it out by now she's not going to. So I'm putting a 47RH auto in it so she can drive it too. I'll miss the ten speed for a little bit.

Here is a couple video's

I'm going to leave the low-direct-high Brownie box for more gear options.

Yes they will bolt to the block no problem. It's basically the same block from 89-02+-.
