Has anyone ever replaced a motor mount? Im pretty saure the passengr side one ripped when I was taking the tranny and everything else out from back there . I think i let the engine drop too far which had caused the rip.

Whats it like to change one and is the dodge dealer the best place to get them?

 

I changed both of mine and the tranny mounts too. Not too hard to do but you need a floor jack that can reach high enough. IIRC I had to remove the bracket from the block on the drivers side in order to get the mount back in. I got mine at NAPA, i think around $30.00. Seemed like good parts. I have to say though, the truck feels like a paint shaker at idle on a cold morning, old ones must have been really tired.

 

Go with the dealer,and this is why.

Replace menny auto zone/checker moter mounts, failed before a year is up!!!
tryed napa but still wouldn't last a year before i would pull the drivers side mount a part!
Bought a factory chry and it would last a full racing season ......Thay last for ever now!!! That is,sence i chaned my motor down!

Now i have been talking a bout my sandwitch style motor mound on my cuda, but how menny cummins motor mounts do you see fail.....evan after 200,000 miles! Just my .02
