Over boost

I recently replaced my vp44, and unhooked my edge comp except for the replacement elbow on the turbo that came with my comp. I now have the p0234 code. My question, is that the only reason for that code? Or is there something else i should be worried about?

If you don't have your edge on, you're aren't doing any boost fooling, and you have the elbow on the turbo, so yes according to the computer you are over boosting. Take off the elbow, or put the Edge back on and she'll stop screamin' at you.

We've been talking about boost fooling at work this week on my truck (98.5 24 valve isb cummins...) and we've come up with ways to not only fool the ecm on boost, but also to keep it from defueling or throwing overboost codes

...the best way to keep from throwing the overboost code and defueling is to install an air regulator (for an air compressor) in between the intake manifold and the intake pressure sensor (toward the rear of the block on the driver's side of the engine)

...I'm trying out our home-made boost fooler next week...we've even talked to cummins reps about our idea and they claim that it does work because other wrench turning/ computer tuning rednecks have figured it out and use it...I'll let you guys know how it works and if it does i'll give some details
