Oil Leak

Alright guys I have an oil leak on my 1999 Cummins it is leaking pretty bad.. It looks to be coming from the front of the block it is blowing back and covering everything, my axle, my trans, steering arms and I cant really see where exactlly the problem is? Have anyone had similar or smae problem? Thanks

It is either the breather tube, or the vacuum pump.

Both of mine are leaking and coating the entire underside of the truck in oil.

It is my little built-in rust prevention system....

First of all WELCOME to the site. You will be able to find a lot of answers and good information on the site and the people are great.

Look between the vacuum pump and power steering pump. If it looks wet and shiny then I would lean towards the vacuum pump being the problem. If it is the vacuum pump then look at www.fixinrams.com for a kit to fix it.

I tried to wipe some of the oil off of all of that last night because i got yelled at about getting oil all over the concrete. I have had my truck a year and havent' had any problems with dripping but last month it got really bad so i have been keeping my eye out since i cannnot believe all of that was from the breather. I keep checking my oil level but it is still in the middle of safe. Hopefully its not something major.

If it started getting really bad with no warning I would guess it to be the vacuum pump seal. But I would check to make sure first before ordering the kit.

thanks guys I am glad for the help it does look really wet right behind the power steering pump and also on the blow by tube... but I stuck my pinky in the blow by and it was powder dry so that makes sense for it to be the vacuum. Also which kit would I need the front one 189.00 or the seal kit 59.00
