Question Towing advice...Leaving tomorrow Morn!

I plan on towing a vehicle trailer with a 2000 crown vic on it about 400 miles. Should i keep it out of overdrive? What about just the trailer its self? I have a built tranny HTS built for me to hold 700HP, does it make a difference?

Drive it! It will be fine in o/d as long as it isn't kicking in and out. If it goes in and stays in ( depends on speed and throttle) it will be fine.

Leave it in overdrive and if it starts hunting for gears lock it in 3rd.

Your not going to have any problems. Just leave it in OD and cruise on. The only time I kick my OD lockout on is when and if I start to lug the engine. If my EGT's get above 1350 I just lift on the GO Pedal a little to keep them in check.

The trailer say speed limit 45. Whats the real speed limit i can "safely" tow it at before the tires blow out? i dont want to be doing 45 in traffic that flows at 90. thats like getting slammed by a car from the back at 45 if you're stopped. thats could be bad too! BTW we decided to leave in the morn.

Must be a U-Haul trailer. I see people pull them all the time running 70mph down the freeway.
No problem running 55-60mph.
