To much timing?

Well today I put a better injection pump on my truck and when I did I jumped a tooth on the pump gear got it running and at low rpm the coolant temp it hotter than normal. Isn't this from to much timing?

Not necessarily from too much timing, but yes, advancing the injection event timing will allow more heat of combustion to be absorbed by the head, piston, and cylinder, as compared to the original timing (in addition to being converted to more energy to the crank as work).

That being said, since more heat is being used in the engine, and not being dumped out the exhaust, you may also notice a little less boost as the turbo is powered by the otherwise wasted energy of heat in the exhaust gases.
