Loud Ringing Noise under hood losin power
I have a 2004 3500 automatic. Within the past year I have had to replace the temp solenoid and sensor because it would not shift. THe grid heater because it had trouble starting this past winter which did not help the problem. Did a bit of research and read that one of my fuel injectors could be going bad. So it being summer I figure I have some time to do some research. As of the last 2 weeks I am hearing a buzzing noise under hood pin pointing that to the electric vacuum pump, which Im told controls the cruise control. So I was not in any hurry to replace that. As of a couple of days ago I am hearing a ringing noise coming from the front of the truck behind the radiator. Sounds like it could be a loose pulley. Also I have noticed the truck has trouble gettin after it. I kinda gotta push the pedal hard for it to get going and it sounds like its running rough or shaking which makes me think it could be an injector. I have replaced the water pump about 18 months ago and I am not seeing any antifreeze anywhere. I have changed out air and fuel filters. Also I have oil leaking out from the top...may be a head gasket??? Also every now and then I get white smoke from the tail pipe. ANY advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated!

It could be too many things to try to guess at but your last statement about the white smoke can be an indication of a bad injector. A bad injector in a common rail engine could cause catasrophic engine failure. I'd get it into a good mechanic ASAP.
