first the disclaimer: YOU ARE DOING THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK

there's a round plug on top of the VB ( driver side ) close to where the linkage connects. Pull that plug off and look at the bottom. You'll see that each wire has a number. Get a T- splice, tap the #7 wire and run it to one side of the switch. Run a wire from the other side of the switch to a good ground with a 33 ohm resistor inline. There you go.

Don't lock it in first... ever. Unlock it before you get at or below 25mph ( if you don't it will go into limp mode, throw a code and stall the truck )

Thanks again for you wisdom tritont, really no resistrors nothin, I did not know it was that easy. Do you think a button would work like one that you would have to hold down to keep it locked

oh yeah... I forgot. Put a 33ohm resistor in line of the ground wire. ( made a edit to the first post )

You wouldn't want a button.... that'd be a pain. Just use a single throw toggle switch. on or off

a lighted switch would be the easiest to do. You'd have to tap power somewhere to feed the light side.

I just use the tow haul switch and it locks up at 28 mph. Is there another practical reason to have a manual over ride on an 06 truck to lock the torque converter? Is this for pulling or 1/4 mile runs and forces it to stay locked?

The lock up just prevents the trans from unlocking to shift gears. When on it stays locked through each shift.

That helps in towing and at the track but, will also break your stuff !!

Check out this thread...lock up switch just be careful, i went thru 1 converter after 8 months.

which leads me to a question....
Is it ok to lockup in 2nd while spraying? cuz thats what i did when my TC grenaded! i sheered off all the rivets in my suncoast.

or should you not lock up if spraying? Im afraid to spray cuz i dont want to pop this converter just yet.

any advice is welcomed

sorry about the hijack..
