headlight issues

I've noticed lately, that sometimes the headlights seem to dim for a split second, and then go back. Not even long enough to see it on the ammeter.

Outside air temp has no effect, nor does vehicle speed. the dimming isn't consistent either (as far as time between dimming).

Any ideas ???

no, any time...even after driving for many hours.

the dimming is no where near as noticeable as the heater grids.

You might have weak batteries or a alternator problem? I had a 2000 Jeep and it did the same thing, in the end it was a problem from a weak battery!!

If you don't use your brights much it could be the multi-funtion switch (turn signal) is dirty causing a poor contact. Spray electronic cleaner at the base of the lever while working the dim/bright and left right turn function back and forth.

Well, infidel, as usual, you may have hit on the issue.

My multi function switch is acting up and I plan on replacing it soon. it doesn't always 'park' the wipers.

it's been doing it for months now, but I only drive it once or twice a month (too long for daily driving & parking and too long, wide, and new for hunting with).

Have to see what happens when I replace the switch

Its the DRL module takin a dump on you.. Pull the plug on it and all will be well once again. You can jumper around it to get your highbeam indicator to work after that. I haven't seen the need to spend the $125 to get a new module.
