The 01 I have has the dome light come on randomly and it will unlock itself too. What in the world would cause this problem!

 

Since both problems are related to the door my guess is a short to ground either inside the door or in the area where the wires jump from the door to the frame.

 

I was just thinking both are also related to the remote door opening computer. It doesn't bother me but a friend saw it sitting in the middle of the night and thought someone was tampering with it when he saw the dome light go off as he turned around. He didn't find anyone and the shop it was sitting at said they saw it do it two or three times and the door was unlocked when they would go check on it. I thought maybe someone had experienced this problem too and had a easy answer.

 

mine was a bad power door lock motor. it had moisture inside and would lock and unlock and do the same thing to the interior dome lights when you would stop and take off. just a thought.
