fuel leak
fuel leak
i have a 1989 power ram 250. i have a significant fuel leak coming from the fuel heater. i have two manuals on this truck but neither show how to remove the fuel heater to replace the gasket. also, is this a dodge only gasket or can i get it at a parts store? any info would be great.
I think Cummins will be your best source for the gasket. Give them your CPL and ESN (located on the data plate near the injection pump and they will get you what you want).
The nipple that the filter mounts on unscrews from the bottom of the filter head, which will allow the heater to drop free. Cummins says to put it back together with loctite and torque it to 24 foot pounds.
Should only take a couple minutes longer than a filter change.
