Doing injectors today...any advice? (updated ?'s)

Title says it all...putting POD's in today, (16cm housing and pyro tomorrow) any words of advice? How about idle, will it stay the same or do I have to be careful when I start it up? Any tips on bleeding? I've done some searching on here, got a lot of good info, just wanted to make sure there werent' any last minute things to know before/while I'm doing it...thanks!

it will most likly make it idle lower than what you have. i just turned up the power screw to resolve that, he he.

short of rocking the injecters out of the hole you shoul dbe all set.

Be careful on the test drive. It would suck to melt something.

When you go to start it, leave 3 of the fuel lines loose (1,3, &5 or 2, 4, &6) and crank it over for 15 - 20 seconds. Tighten the lines and try to start it. If it doesn't go, loosen the other 3 and crank for 15 - 20 seconds, tighten the lines and try to start. It might take a couple tries but it will fire.

Once you get it running, spray the injectors and return line down with brake cleaner and check for leaks.

I'm another one who used the fuel screw to set the idle.

If you haven't done so already, you will need to advance your timing with the POD's. IMHO, it's so much eaiser to turn the injector pump while you still have the injector lines loose. Good Luck

When you take the injectors out make sure the copper washer comes out. I think one of mine had two on it. That injector looked worse than the others and was harder to get out. Be careful with the return line, if you bend it, it will be harder to put on. When I first started mine it ran reeal rough. Just hit the pedal a lil and it cleared right up. Had me worried when it was shaking real bad. Just don' tbe runnin WOT very long til you get a pyro. Now your gonna be able to spray for misquetos!

If you don't care about the old ones, I used vice grips, but don't use a turning motion or you might hurt the head. I think rocking a lil helped.

I saw something about making a sort of slidehammer out of a metric nut that fit the threads on the injector and then a bigger nut over a long bolt which screwed into the metric nut.
