Does anybody make wheels for Dodges?
My truck came used with a set of MotoMetal wheels, 17x9 and 4.75" BS. My 315x70s stick out past the wheel wells by 2.5" on the tread and close to 3" on the tire body. I'm tired of the mess this makes on the side of my truck and my fiver trailer. I'm looking for wheels that will keep the tires in the wheel wheels where tires belong.
Maybe Dodge made a narrow truck and fit it on wide axles, but there is no +43mm offset aftermarket wheel that I can find. I thought I'd found a set of Gear Alloys with a +25mm offset that would only be offset outward only 3/4 an inch wider than stock, but they've been discontinued.
Where do we go for wheels? I want 17x8 or x9's that will keep an 11 or 12 inch wide tire in the wheel well. I've got at least 2 inches between the control arm and the current wheel/tire, so there's plenty of room to work with.

Check out Centerlines site, they make some nice looking wheels in an assortmemt of sizes and backspacing
They make a 17x 8.5 with 6" backspacing and a 17x9 with 5.25"
They are a little pricey but they do make some very strong wheels and have some overstock deals listed on the site too, hope this helps

I just ordered up a set of these in 17x8.5 with a +32 offset (6" BS).

Stock aluminum wheels are 17x8 and will fit the 315/70 tires just fine. The H2 wheels are 17x8.5 and work well on these trucks, but they are 5.5" backspacing and will still stick out 1" more than stock.
Those Centerlines look nice, I'd like to see pics when installed. The ones that caught my eye were the Walker Evans wheels, also available in the 17x8.5 with 6" backspacing.
Ideally I would like a 18x8 with the stock offset so I could run the 275/70R18 size from the newer F-250's. Curse GM for going to the 8 on 180mm bolt pattern when they switched to 18" wheels on their 2500 trucks.

Centerline has some (relatively) good internet deals on their overstock page. Still build-to-order, however. They're forged US-made wheels rather than the tire-store Chinese castings. Full retail would be a deal breaker, though.
The only reason I'm getting wheels is to get the tires inside the wheel wells, so there would be no point if I didn't get a "high-offset" wheel.
I'll post up some pictures after they're mounted up. It'll take 3-4 weeks for them to build and deliver the wheels they say. Fortunately, I've got a little tread left...

The wheels and tires are on. Centerline Eclipse 17x8.5 with a 6" backspace, with Toyo 285/75 17 AT tires. The whole package fits into the wheel wells!
With the correct backspace the tires don't hit the fender trailing edge anymore and I can actually turn the steering wheel with the truck stopped now. Ball joints and front hubs will probably last longer, and the road grime down the side of the truck should be much less. I'm happy.
BTW, I got 48,000 miles on the Goodyear Dura-tracs that came off (315/70s). The Toyos are warrantied for 55K miles. We'll see.

- P-Metric A/T tires below 18" have a 50K warranty
- Non-P-metric or LT tires up to 17" have 40K warranty
- A/T above 17" and all MT tires have NO mileage warranty.
I called Toyo and the representative confirmed the above. She did say, however, that Schwab often extends the warranty beyond what the factory offers. So, if I have a problem above the 40K mark, then Schwab covers it themselves. It would be beneficial to deal with Schwab anyway since the pro-ration would be better through them at 55K than Toyo at 40K.
