Dodge dashes!

Ok, I know this has been beat to death, but what are you guys doing with your cracked dashes? I found the dash ABS/plastic "cover", but it looks like crap. I will not put a carpet cover on.............. unless I can find some fuzzy dice to match it. What are you guys doing? TIA

I have the "Carpet" cover dash mat and no cracked dash. I also use a sun shade when it is parked.

yeah, you have an 06 not an 03 and with your cover I doubt you'll ever have my problem. I'm looking for a response from someone in my boat, thanks.

No cracks but I do have a Ultimat molded dash mat cover. Fits great and also cuts down on the glare.

Ok Guys, Dodge CS called me back today and started a "case #", I went to my local dealer and they took a bunch of pictures and said they will be contacting me w/ when to drop off my truck. That's all, no more info, but it looks promising. I will keep you posted!

You might want to stop, I've used the same stuff starting a couple of years ago when I 1st saw it. I'm sure my problems started before that but it surely didn't help. The dealer told me today that NOTHING is recommended for keeping our dashes in good shape, just keep them out of the sun as much as possible. Bunch of crap!

What...?

So keep it in the garage during the day, and only drive it at night then?

Just keep it covered with papers, maps, dust, etc...

My 03 just cracked this summer. I know a couple other guys with 03-04 trucks with dashes that have cracked.

No dash problem here. But I keep the 'Ultimat' on mine and use a sun shade when parked and try to park in shade whenever possible. I am also guessing the mat helps protect the stereo/other electronics from excessive heat. The Texas Summer Sun is relentless. Without protection on the dash it will eventually succomb to the rays.

No, I was wrong, I used F21 by Turtle wax. Says it's all kind of UV protective, but the dealer said the problem was the products cover up the plastic and insulate the heat into the dash causing the cracking........who knows????

A few years ago I did a test with Armorall. Sprayed one side of the dash with Armorall and the other side with nothing. Parked in the sun and after a period of time the surface temp was hotter than hell with the Armorall, but the other side with nothing was just warm. After that I ditched the Armorall and went with 303 or nothing at all.
