Ha, lots of you were right!

This afternoon I cracked the 2, 4, and 6 injectors and turned it over a couple of times before tightening them back down.

It caught, quit, caught, quit, caught, quit, then fired! Ahhhhhhhhhhh.

Some air must have gotten into the lines on the high pressure side that couldn't be pushed out from the low pressure side, even if the filter and transfer pump were full and operating properly. Makes sense now.

Even with the new sensor on the bottom of the filter/separator the "Water in line" light stays on, but it's been on since I bought the truck. I think something electrical is faulty.

Anyway, I love diesels. I love that truck!

On another thread it was discovered that there was a spring in the bottom of the fuel filter which was shorting the WIF electrodes causing the light to stay on.

Hmm, Edwin, I'll investigate that spring issue you mentioned!

The WIF light comes on everytime my truck gets wet and stays on for about a week until it dries out. I finally put some silicone around the wires and it stays dry. ;0)

 

Hmm, that's worth investigating, but mine stays on all the time. Maybe it runs on water...

 

Clean the contact points inside it, but DO NOT touch them with your hand. I finally got my light to stay off.

My WIF light comes on when the tank gets low. It usually goes away a while after I fill up. What should I run in the tank?
