CTD engine swaps
I'd like to know if any one has done a swap using a CTD, and if so, into what vehicle. I thinking of such a swap for my Dakota ( 1 ton axles front and rear, 16" of lift,35" tires) By doing so I hope to gain more power with improved fuel economy. I've been giving this a bit of thought but would appreciate any advice or tips that would help me accomplish this swap. Thanks.

Re:CTD engine swaps
I'm not sure it would fit in a Dakota just from sheare size.
I have seen a couple of Chevys and several Fords with them in them.
You could prob. put a B4bt in a Dakota , but it would have alot of vibration.
They are used in backhoes , breadtrucks and ag. applications alot.
Great engines except for the vibration.
If you can do it it woul be great.
If you do post pics. I would love to see the details.
Good Luck !!

I don't think the B5.9 will fit that small compartment. You will have to measure. I would think the smaller B3.9 will fit. That's the inline four.

Re:CTD engine swaps
Thanks guys. The only B 3.9's I found were outragiously high priced, although I had considered it. I have a line on a B 5.9 for a great price. I'd love to hear from David TD about his Dakota. I think I saw it on a Dakota site.
