BullyDog Upgrade Trouble
BullyDog Upgrade Trouble
My TripleDog has version 2.2.2. I decided to upgrade to 2.2.7. I downloaded it to my pc from the website along with the instructions. When I plug the TD in my pc nothing happens. I tried to install the downloader manually since the Install Wizard couldn't find it but it wont go. Says no new hardware is found. I am running Windows XP. I have tried it with my laptop and my desktop and it does the same thing, says no new hardware found. Any ideas. Thanks.

So the first time did windows look for the correct driver?
Mine I had downloaded the program but it must not have been the install program, because when I hooked up the TD windows couldn't find the correct drivers, so I left the TD hooked up and downloaded from BD's web site again. Then I got the install program, and windows found the driver. Then when you go down to the start button and find the BD program in programs and put your mouse on it the side bar should show you the different versions downloaded on your PC.
2 things very important. 1st make darn sure your truck is back to stock before upgrading. And second if the update don't take right, don't download the program into your truck a second time. The second item is what I believed I did. Then you have a very bad situation.
If you get the right guy at Bully Dog they are alot of good help. But if you get the one guy, good luck.

How do you know if the program took ? Also the main reason I wont to update is the foglight on high beam. Is there any difference in power with the new version? I am not getting the CL. Would it even be worth doing the upgrade?

What mine did, I downloaded it into the truck, and when I went to the adjust on the fly part of it, it still only showed stock, and said the program was not installed into the truck and asked if I wanted to install it. This was right after I just installed it. Well, I pushed yes. That was bad. Truck wouldn't run after wards. Bully Dog had to set the downloader up to recovery mode for me. They were great about that. Truck ran fine after that, but I had ABS and air bag lights on. Dealer said the ECM had lost it's vin and settings.
Did your PC set up the Bully Dog program and create a short cut on your desk top, as well as a short cut on your start button/programs list?

When I downloaded the upgrade it did create a shortcut. My problem is installing the TD Programmer itself. My computer will not recognize it at all.
