Blower motor

Not sure, I think my blower motor or the switch is going bad. If i turn on the fan, it might work great, it might work just a tad (barely tell any air is being blown, or it might now work at all. Any ideas where to start troubleshooting??

check all your electrical connections first. it sounds like you might just have a loose wire.

I hate to use this as an example, but my nissan P/U started doing the samething it would work then it would't then it would then it would be slow back and forth. Next time it acts up leave it on the setting you set it at and tap the blower motor with a hammer or screwdriver, not that hard but see if it starts working right. I did this with my nissan and found out it was just the blower motor. The brushs start to wear with age. Try this and let me know what it does.

Just my .02

My truck did the same thing when I got it. The previous owners had actually kicked holes in the black plastic trying to make it run right (instead of just fixing it). Living in Florida it was the first thing to fix on the truck. Dropped 3 screws, took the blower out and sprayed WD-40 on the shaft and put it back in. Works perfect now and took maybe five minutes.

If the problem is indeed the motor skip the dealers and auto parts stores and go straight to an electric motor shop. I've bought a few, exactly the same as OEM for around $30

Jarhead-

I'm just checking in with you, did you find out what was up with your blower motor? Mine is acting up a little, just the speeds are weird. Let me know what you found.

Dodge has a recall on that. Don't remember all the parts, I think it's the ign switch and add a relay for the heater blower.

I have a 96 and there was a recall. If memory is correct, running the fan on high for extend time was causing overheating of original switchs. I never had the problem, but did have the recall done.
