Nothing. Marketing to respond to the Duramax recent upgrade to 605. Cummins was supplying them on the "hot" side the whole time.

I think the ST is 600 and the SLT is 610 .. Maybe someone can confirm but I thought I read somewhere that a flash can upgrade the 600 to a 610.

I asked a dealer when I was looking for mine. The guy gave me a blank stare then changed the subject...I went to a different dealer after that (and the fact he told me that it would take a month to get the one I wanted and I already knew the dealer 30miles away had 3 of them)

Did you guys read my post?

They are the same engines/calibrations.

It has nothing to do with what interior package you order.

I have seen 2005 CTDs with both 600 and 610 on the Window Sticker on the same lot. My guess is that there is some overlap in production installs of the "600" until they were all installed in trucks. Everything after that should read 610.

I cant believe that there is any physical difference in anything in the Cummins, other than new valve cover labels. If anything some "PROGRAM" change in the ECM for the marketing department.

I would like Dodge to show me the dynos of 2005 600 and 610 to prove the huge increase in torque .

Do you know how "hot" by chance? Just curious, I have one.

Actually, since the valve cover label only shows HP not TQ, the stickers are the same. My '05 has an early engine but was delivered late (sunroof issues?). The window sticker said it was a 610. The build date was earlier than some 600's I saw on the dealer's lot. I believe at the very end before delivery, the window sticker printing program was updated with the 610 number, around the same time the engines were being delivered with the new program that us early builds now have once we had the latest flash done. It's only a paper difference, and within the margin of fudge-factor. That said, I love my "610" and wouldn't trade her for anything!

Its all a reflash.

The latest reflash for the 04.5 600's for MPG and other stuff, included the uprate to 610.

If it says 610..its 610. If its showing 600, take in to get reflashed. Although the later 600's should already have the latest reflash in it, take it in and have them check it

Simple as that.
