2005 Fuel Pressure ?'s

I have an 05 and I'm running a quad RP gauge with the FP add-on. I have been having an issue with a bad connector or broken wire in the harness that connects to the RP transducer so I currently have it disconnected (was making the truck miss and shut off). The FP is still hooked up.

My first question is what should my FP be at? I've never seen it above 8 psi but mostly runs around 6 or 7 under normal driving conditions. The juice was on level 1.

It was consistant at that until last night. I was just cruising around 60mph. The FP gauge started going nuts. Jumping around anywhere from 0 to 4 psi. The juice was on level 1. When the LP is failing, could it do this? I checked the connection on the sending unit and everything is tight and clean. I am going to change the fuel filter tonight. (less than 10k on a 7 micron fleetgaurd.)

And finally, anyone know where I can get the connector and pigtail to repair the harness running to the RP transducer? Quad...... Can you get this?

Anyone? Should I be thinking about a FASS or Walbro pump?

Your pressures sound normal, I have a mechanical isspro fp guage and idle is around 8.5. Normal driving 6-7 and wot I am 5, lowest I've seen is 4 with TST on 90hp setting. I would check your quad guage first, but I'm sure you would have reduced power if your pressure dropped to 0. Sounds like an electrical problem like you said.

Give Quad a call. I'm one of the luck few that have had a few FP sending units go bad. The last that I talked with they were testing the new units.

My 05 would idle around 7psi and wide-open throttle I’d pull it down to 0psi with the Smarty. I installed the Glacier system and idle at 22psi and wide-open at about 19psi.

i just installed my fass and went to hook my fp guage back up and the guage reads zero all the time, is this what happens the the fp sending units go bad.. is it just the oilpressure sender going bad or is actually somthing in side the readout guage?

Thanks all. The truck seems to be running fine so I'm going to hope that it is just the gauge. I think it might be time to install a mechanical FP gauge.

Ended up being the sending unit for the gauge. I called Quadzilla and they shipped me a new one. I have also purchased a mechanical gauge too.
