05 Bolt on Turbo Upgrades

Hey Meach, The 05 needs a good intercooler too. They made the end tanks out of plastic in 05. I read that some were breaking at 40 PSI of boost. I have not seen it myself, but the plastic tanks dont seem like the most durable things around.

Good question, cause sooner or later this 04.5 of mine ain't gonna be stock.
Stick or slushbox? Staying with a single or looking to twin? What is the rwhp goal?

Good to be back guys.
Good to hear from you Don. Yeah I got an 05 6 speed and the White beast has gone on to stickier dragstrips (7.71 in the 1/8th @ 89.43 mph is all I could get). I'm looking at Injectors(if Don finishes them), turbo(no twins at this time), manifold, clutch, and box. Just really wanting to know what's out there. You guys have always been so informative and helpful.

Looks like the HTB2 and B1-04 are the only options right now if you still want decent spool-up in a single. Diesel Dynamics will have our first real ball bearing turbo ready to go this month (supposedly), so that will be the hot item to have when it is released. I do know of one guy pushing just over 650hp on a 3rd Gen with the B1-04 running the TST, EZ, nitro, and a little something else special. There is also a 2nd Gen that just did over 600hp at DDP with the B1-04 on #2 only. I have absolutely no idea what their temps were (just assume something insane), but it is nice to know the B1-04 will make the power and can take that kind of abuse without leaving you stranded on race day. Twins are still the right stuff for big HP. The HTB2 is getting popular with the forum users as well, so maybe some of those guys will chime in with their experiences. I have noticed several forum users get just over 500hp with the HTB2 and fueling boxes only (no injectors yet), so it is doing quite well.
As for fitting the 05....looks like you get to be the test mule.

I'm not looking for tons of H.P.. The HTB2 sounds like a good upgrade. I have heard that it has an internal wastegate. Could someone advise me on this turbo and tell who carries these? I would like to have a set of Don's injectors and a box that I could let loose when needed! Thanks for the input guys!
