Brake Pad questions

I did a quick search and came up empty so.... I have almost 70k on my 2010 and the brakes are getting low. I could probably get another 5 to 10k out of them since I have not been towing much. My question is what brand of pads have you been using and how many miles have you been getting out of them I would like at least another 70K out of the next set.

I've always had good service from the NAPA premium brake pads. In fact, I'm buying front pads tomorrow from NAPA for my 2011.

No matter what vehicle... factory pads. Sure I know there are only so many manufacturers just like there are only so many manufacturers of tires but they all put their own spin on the composition, that's why some tires are better than others. I once tried a set of after market front pads on a vehicle, I took them off within a month and bought the factory ones.

I agree with Busboy. Factory, OEM not value line. IMO
If you got 70k from factory OEM, then go with OEM and get another 70k.

I got 100k on the oem FRONT pads on my truck with zero noise and minimal dust and I ALSO didn';t even have to turn the rotors when I replaced the pads...they were true and had enough meat left to go another 100k!! While there may be other pads that stop a little quicker, they will also wear the rotors out more quickly as well and then you ail need to replace those as well. If you are towing and need more brake, you likely need to adjust or upgrade the brakes on your trailer as often those are the weak point. Or get and use an exhaust brake (oops….sorry, on your 4th gen you already have one)

So all that being said, IMHO, it is a no brainer to go with the oem "premium" pads (like others have said, do NOT use the Mopar "value" line pads as they are NOT the same quality as the ones that came on your truck and will wear much faster then the premium pads). They might be twice the price of many aftermarket pads per axle, but you will get twice the life and NOT have to do the pad replacement twice.

Just my .02.
