6.7 turbo on my 5.9

well in the next 2 weeks I am getting a 6.7 turbo put on my 5.9 cummins.. I just wanted to know if any one has this done to their truck and if so what is it like..? the most expensive part of geting this job done was the control box for the turbo...but i think it will be worth it....?

I used to have a Harley with a vsariable vane turbo on. That thing was a monster, and the turbo would make boost just by blipping the throttle. I'm glad manufacturers are starting to use them.

Can you tell me about the control box? Is it a stand alone system? And what parameters does it use?

I assume your using the Fleece Performance controller? Will you be using the exhaust manifold off of the 6.7L or using the 5.9 with a flange adapter?

I'm kind of interested in doing the same one day.

I had the turbo and sold it after a few phone calls with Fleece. I think it will be a good setup, but it wasn't for me.

The compressor wheel on the VE is the same wheel as on the stock turbo, so you won't get any more air. But you will get a much better turbine section with quicker spool, better flow on the top end, and the cool fact that its a VNT.

If you can and while its fresh in your mind - give us a blow by blow description of the performance differences if you would please. I have seen an article similar to this in Diesel Power magazine. Owner gave feedback and stated big improvements. Can't remember if it was on a 12V or CRD though.

hey guys sorry i took so long to get back been supper busy. I have had my truck all week now and let me tell you if you want a good allround turbo.
well this is the convershion you want!!

I am supper happy that I did this!!! It has no turbo lag in it all depending on how you have the veins on the turbo set.. it will push about 45lbs of boost and im really not looking for any more.

fule mileage has gone up about 6-7mpg thats all i wanted but with this turbo came a good bit of power to the top and bottem end.

My truck will be at Sanantiono Race Way on April 30th for the diesel event being put on out there if any one wants to check it out Ill be there with All Out Diesel Performance along with several other Big power tucks they have built.

If you have a question about the turbo just as me and ill get back to you..
michael
