Transmission Slipping

Hey cummins fans, I am a new diesel owner and went with a 2000 4x4 2500 Long Bed Automatic trans. It has 17X,XXX miles on it bone stock, and lately I have been experiencing a slight slip in the transmission. I checked the fluid and it was clean and did not smell and was at proper level. Basically what happens for example i was pulling into a parking spot and was at a stop but still in drive and decided i needed to pull up a little bit but the transmission seemed like it was in neutral but immediately grabbed after about 1 to 2 seconds. Another instance was when i pulled off a road into a parking lot and i was off the accelerator because of speed bumps and went to push on the pedal and once again in neutral feel. I put it in neutral and then back to drive and it seemed fine again...it doesnt slip any other time just when it seems like i coast, or when i come off the accelerator...im new to the forums and if this is a simple fix please dont slam me...any help would be appreciated.

could be a dirty filter I have seen this more than one time before, or maybe the bands need adjustment. (one needs to be done when doing the filter as it is inside the case the other can be done w/o dropping the pan,

My truck had a dirty filter @ like 70k miles so when I would make a sharp turn it would slip like it was low on fluid, I hope for your sake it is this simple as with 170k miles you could very well need a rebuild, plus you never really know what the Previous owner did to this truck) as far as maintaining it

sounds like the converter is draining back. change the filter and fluid first, see if it helps.
