valves adjust
Posted in the sticky but it must have been missed. My timing pin doesn't function properly, anyone know the transition of the valves when its in the timing hole? I know when the intake valve starts going down i can do six. I would rather hit them all on one shot though.
Hopefully I don't have to pull my timing cover off to see where the hole is

Sometimes that timing pin tends to get stuck from who knows what getting lodged in it. Usually just dust and other small debris. I'd remove it and see if you can get it to free up. Then reinstall it and try engaging it into the pump gear.

The pin itself is held in with a circlip, it just pulls out.
If you loosen the housing the pin is in, you lose TDC. It would still be close enough to do valves but if you wanted to set timing it would be off.

I did mine without the pin. Found TDC and went from there, But I had it at TDC with the head off. Just remove the #1 injector and find TDC and go from there.
