Well after much thought and complete disregard for all of your opinions I decided to try and give the duals a try...

Install was about an hour every day this week... Lots of welding, grinding, cutting, repeat to make it fit the way I wanted... Gooseneck hitch also made things more difficult!

May try a few different things to see what I like, but I am pretty pleased with how things turned out..

Basic Rear shot, I think it tucked away pretty nicely:

Little smoke pour... Looks really uneven in this shot for some reason... The big shadow effect on the right side isn't helping anything... The smoke is actually very even when driving or revving in place... was surprised.. A well this pic just doesn't show it...

Pass side view, very little able to be seen (lots of cutting welding etc.. to get them to tuck up like that!! In stock form I thin they would have been dragging on the ground! )

Drivers view:

Little close up underneath, really have to get down low to see the pipes.. Haven't put my spare back in yet but it does fit...

Well what you think?? Different huh? Black paint made all the difference in the world.. Painted all the piping with that flat black grill spray...

Next meet at Sedalia, I vote we have Brian drive around the camping/firepit area and "fog" for chiggers.

(now all we need is someone to grade the drive )

valve cover cover

again, not as cool as Brians project but i think it turned out ok for a guy that enjoys painting but is not very skilled.

My valve cover cover

^^^blank canvas.

^^^before touch up

^^^ after touch up

^^^ with 1 coat of clear stuff.

^^^ my areosol arsenal

i think it turned out pretty good, it cost more than planned but o well..

Who needs twins?

If it don't go - Chrome It!

Brian - nice job on the install, but I liked the stacks way better!
Besides, most of the trucks I see with duals like that are Fords.

Brian it looks great either way! But I have to agree with Mike about your stacks. Those really looked awesome on your truck....and it just isn't the same without them.

I definately don't like stacks on all trucks....but the way you had yours...I did.

The rear duals look great too though. And the black paint too.

..................................

Max....I have been planning a similar project with my valve cover too. Looks very nice! I will look forward to seeing it back on the engine too.

Speaking of paint......Brian you should consider painting your rear diff cover with some high temp black grill paint sometime.

Stacks had to go Last trip home with the boat in tow it rained and well 2 hours of my life were lost cleaning black dots from my completely white boat interior!! Sucked!!

We will see so far I like it, but we all know that can change in a hurry...

And yes I know she needs new shoes... probably a 285 AT or something close...
