Well I have been thinking about taking my truck in a slightly different direction and adding 1998 2nd gen red "Sport" emblems to the front doors. And im also considering having the LS traction bars powdercoated Red. I think a small "splash" of red on an all black and no chrome truck might look good. Thoughts?

Here is a pic of the badging. I have always loved these. Member 'RatlRatl' is a parts manager for a CDJ dealer in North Carolina has them on the way here.

I agree. I think a little color would be good.

Burgers sound great. If I can nail down how many will be here, I was thinking of making chili one night.

Thanks for looking for the van. My wifes van was stolen at her work, which just happens to be in Robert's patrol area. He was kind enough to check all the apartment complexes, etc in that area for us. It's probably in Mexico by now.

You have been selling us for years on the all black look....and i dont know.....Honestly.....you have the sharpest 3rd gen i have seen....only thing you need is an SRT-10 hood.....i dig the all black.....If i were you...i would get them and paint them black...have a black on black look.......

But if you must, Maybe some red neon under the truck..........OH! And thoes little fire fly valve stem lights...and, ALSO i have seen some red LED's that mount in your exhaust pipe! Dont forget the sun visor.........haha.....

I think for color I like Diesel-Dan's idea of LEDs in the tailpipe, red and blue would be about perfect for Robert. That way when he clouds out someone it looks like he's going to pull himself over.

Not digging the red color on the otherwise all black truck.

Emblems maybe, but definitely not the bars. I think the red bars under the all-black truck would just look like an afterthought. Or someone trying to show off their bars.

I'm heading south this afternoon. What does the van look like? I'll see if I run across it towing or being towed as I pass all the other vehicles headed to Mexico.

I wouldn't bother trying to make those bars red - if you really want another color, sell them and get a new set powdercoated.

I like the badges, and if you DO put red traction bars on - maybe I won't be powder coating the Monster Bars for the '98 in red after all... but then they won't match the control arms, 3rd Gen trackbar, SSSSS, LazarLinks, etc.

Looks like Brian and I'll be wiring up the purple and green neon lights for Robert's truck at the GTG next weekend.

Thanks for the honest opinions gentlemen. I think I will pass on the neon, blue/red, etc lights though.

Sounds like the consensus here is to do the emblems.....but leave the traction bars black. (it would be a while before doing those anyway, if I did)

I love Dan's idea of a SRT 10 hood. Texasram2500's truck was hit by hail here in McKinney and he got one for no additional cost over stock. Looks sweet! It's a week to week thing around here on whether my truck will get by a hail storm.

That is a good idea Dan, that I hadn't considered. If I added the red 2nd gen emblems, as they are, I was considering painting a 3rd gen Cummins "C" emblem and putting it on my lower left corner of the tailgate where the chrome one is now.
