Well I scared myself into buying a rebuild kit for my tired HX... not a bad price $65 for a kit plus 5 for new gaskets...

Side to side play has me worried... Hopefully she doesn't grenade at the dyno before I have time to rebuild it!!

Seems pretty dooable... been reading the holset manual and it looks pretty straight forward as long as nothing is worn out of spec... We will see... I'll take some pics!

Oooo man I dont know if my turbo is going to like Sat dyno time!! Holset says "0.330 - 0.508 (0.013 - 0.020)" is allowable... I'm thinking mine is more along the lines of .300! not rubbing, but man its gotta be close!! We will make sure to vid my dyno runs in case of grenading turbo!!

Should I bring my old stocker along just in case? The color is a little off, but everything else works well.

It's boxed up in the garage. I'll put it on the truck before I come out. RJ will be happy to know that I'm carrying a spare turbo.

Surprised you don't have it with you at all times!

What impressed me wasn't having spares for everything.... but buying 2 when you bgt. new, so you would have a spare.

Nah, can't carry it around all the time. Don't have room for it.

Besides, when I have an extra, it saves me a trip to the store to get a new one when the old one goes (especially if I'm broke down with no transportation). And I try to only do it with the small stuff that's important...but there are a few exceptions.
