Needed tires... wanted 33". Jeep came with 3.07 (milege) gears and 27" tires. Guru's say 4.56 gears are needed for 33" tires.
They are right on.
Front axle is still 3.07 gears, for a month or two, so don't want to forget and go into 4x4.
With frt drive shaft removed, I still have 2x4 HI.... and 2x4 LO range!
Before & after below........

Much better traction with 12.5" wide tires and locker than I had 4x4 with open differential and smaller tires!
Fields, trails, logging roads, woods, streams, beach, mountain fire roads ..........yes! Rocks.... I don't think so!

But previous 4x4 was way better than the CTD could ever do!

WTH! Went by 4Wheel Parts in Plano to pick up Bilstein 5100's for the front of Old Red and they didn't have them in stock. Monday or drive to Coppell....guess they can wait.

I'll be at The Ranch late Saturday and plan to put the new tires and wheels on early Sunday morning. RJ is coming down, and anyone else is welcome to drop by.

#2 daughter ended up in the hospital, so if I make it to The Ranch today, it will later this afternoon.

Long time no chat Fellas!

I have been so busy with work, personal life and such I haven't had much time to check in. But, I am off of work for 9 whole days and am spending my time in Sunny North Texas

My birthday is this weekend so Saturday we are having a house party in Decatur to celebrate. Cody Jinks will be playing (6pm-11pm) you guys are more than welcome to come out. I plan to grab a 15.5 gallon barrel of domestic light and cold golden goodness for consumption.

It's great to be back in Tejas and I hope everyone is doing well.
Ps. While here I have been eyeballing Mega cabs....

Can't make it but have a blast. Go easy on the Jalepeno's.
And... buy yourself a 4x4 birthday present!

Looks good Charlie! What size tires are those? For some reason, the tires always seem to look smaller on a 2nd gen then they do when they're on a 3rd gen.
