Funny you mention that Justin. I got a set of wheels and used tires, 98' steel style, free to anyone. 3 hold air and the other needs a plug I think. Will hold air just leaks down. Dont want to throw them in the trash.

We use the steel OEM wheels in the shop as bases & flywheels.

I just want to get rid of them to make more garage space. I put them up on Craigslist to see if I can sell them locally. Really don't want to have to deal with the headache of shipping these things if I post them in the classifieds here. That will be a last resort measure.

Maybe it's time to move to a set of wheels from this century. With as clean as Ol' Red is, you could pass her off as a newer truck.

you mean that is a maintenance item??? oops.. 200K on original fluid. Not. about a week and change. I like the fancy rain X orange blend from wally world. I think the extra dollar spent is well worth it.

Sold The Bus!

Nice looking '98. Amazing what a little $$$ will do for a plain white truck. What about the 12v, any plans for it?

Nothing planned right now.....too hot.

Can't believe you converted a "grail" truck to a shortbed!
Different strokes for different folks... I guess!
No rightside pics! Where is the tailpipe?

Does look sharp...

HP/TQ ??

Well, the 3rd gen rims and 305/65/17 Procomp Xtreme A/Ts are on...finally. I went with the 3rd gen center caps. I tried to use the 2nd gens, but they aren't deep enough to close the gap between the rim and the cap. I'll grab some pics later when the truck is out of the garage.

They are rubbing a little bit on full lock left turn, but I discovered it's because my axle is shifted right after the 3rd gen track bar ugprade. Maybe it's just telling me that I should do the leveling kit to bring it back to center and open up my options for 315s when I get new rubber on these rims. Still undecided on the raising the front because I hate the nose high stance when I put a trailer on.

Mike, how hard is it to rotate the track bar bushings to bring the axle in center?

Not the track bar, is it? Thought the 3rd Gen bars were the same length?
Must be off set bushings.... but with no lift, you would have "center cut" bushings....no?
Centramatic spacers helped with my 35's, a lot. Or could probably make some easily. 1/8" is all that I needed.

I spent a lot of time trying to get 2nd Gen caps to work also.... but no go!
Fronts could be used but backs are not possible, IMO.
