I'm with Wayne "...calculating the weight ". I'd probably be more worried about breaking something if I went the scale with some of the loads.

I think you're numbers are close. Did you add ballast the rear tires? The 14K is for a fully ballasted 4240.

Ya dont want to be anywhere near a scale with that load... Ur right about the weights.. Good ol tractor Data:

Weight (shipping): 10,900 lbs [4944 kg]
Weight (operating): 12,395 lbs [5622 kg] (duals)
Weight (ballasted): 14,090 lbs [6391 kg]

Best to my knowledge the tires are not ballasted... So maybe I'm a bit better! Really curious to that loader weight?? Dang thing was crazy heavy to install I know that! Side brackets alone needed another tractor to hold in place for the install probably 500lbs a piece? Really impressed with the stoutness of that Koyker 585

Anybody figured out a 2lo for the 3rd gen yet?

I checked part numbers last night and the APPS numbers are the same from my 01 and the 03. So looks like I'll be able to put a manual high idle box on after all.

 

Actually thought about ballasting the rears as the back still gets light lifting heavy up front... Bout to add a weight bar to the box blade so I can hang the front tractor weights off of it... Need all the help I can get, especially when backing up the concrete boat ramp when I'm digging it out. That wet silt crap is HEAVY!

 

Me. He put my 01 in a ditch all along the pass side. The side I had just finished buffing.

The 01 has been treated to new stuff as of late. New Mopar headlights, fog lights, black bumper cover, grey lower bumper cover and new tail lights.

The 01 is being sold back to my brother.

What does he drive now? I think the prev owner now has a F350 or F450.

 

Still drives the 03 and a Ford 150...

 

We've always had ours ballasted to provide more traction with the v-ripper or offset, especially back when it still ran duals. Haven't used either of those much lately, but it's too much hassle to jack up the rear and drain the water.

With that wet silt, you might need the rear ballast, plus the weight bar to stay planted. Or just a smaller bucket...

They sales guy is supposed to give the prev owner my number. Prev owner said he was going to stop me or stop by my work when the truck was outside but wanted to make sure it was cool first.
