Wundrin bout the 3.42 gears ...

That doesn't sound right. I'm running right at 2k rpms at 70mph with 285/70/17's and a 3.73. Effectively changing the ratio to about 3.60.

Figured the 3.42 would have the rpms around 1800-1900 rpms at 70mph.

Both of you guys have taller tires than I do(245/70R17). Even the stock dually tires are a bit taller. Properly calculated, it is supposed to be more like 1925 rpm. Right now, the speedo is off by 5, so I cannot get a good reading.
