I use a Tekonsha Prodigy with the digital read-out. It handles from 1 to 4 axles, and just snaps into the Dodge trailer harness under the dash. The digital read-out tells me if there is a voltage drop or problem at a glance, and that pays for itself in the first really long tow. If anything in the connector gets loose, the unit tells me immediately.

How much is a unit like that. And is there a unit that works like the ford internal unit. Meaning it senses how much brake you are using. Thanks.

Brakesmart, best I've used since the old Kelsey-Hayes units that plumbed into the brake system.

I think the general consensus is:
#1 - - Brakesmart - - - about $500
#2 - - Jordan 2020 - - - about $125
#3 - - Prodigy - - about $125

Those that have moved from time based to Prodigy love it. Those that moved from Prodigy to Jordan love it. Most of those that have moved from Jordan to Brakesmart say it is even smoother than Jordan. Take your choice.

Brakesmart monitors brake fluid pressure. Jordan monitors the position of the brake pedal. Prodigy monitors deceleration of the truck.

Get the Jordan here http://bestbrakecontroller.com. I had a Tekensha before and there is no comparison. Set it once and you never have to touch it again whether it's stop and go or highway.

Unless you want to $pring for the Brake$mart, you can't beat the Jordan Ultima 2020.
