TX. to Calif & back
We left last Saturday for California pulling a uhaul car hauler with a Ford Ranger on it that was loaded up and the back of my truck was loaded. We traveled 70 to 75 most of the time with a strong head wind and averaged about 11.5 to 12 MPG. On the way back we were empty and running 80 and 85 (0ccassionally 90mph) and averaged in the area of 17 mpg again with a strong head wind as the weather conditions had changed. I think if I had slowed down a little coming home I could have easily hit 20 mpg. This was one long exhausting drive as we drove up in two days and turned around and came straight home.
Good to be home.

That's a LOT in one weekend.
Shortly after the wedding, my wife and I did a 4 day turn around to get her stuff out of Oklahoma. 12hr driving days...we were SOOOOO irritable at the end of that. But woke up the next morning, everything just fine!
Glad to hear you got good mpg on the return and no mishaps!
