Truck squatted today...
I had 4000lbs of sand in the bed and the back was squatting pretty nicely...
Is that too much?
I was suprised how well the truck shifted and performed under that load...

I wouldnt think it is a big deal. I had 3500lbs of feed in the bed of my F250 befor. I squatted pretty good but pullin it was no prob. I could deffinately feel it when I went to stop though.

Honestly, I dont understand the stoppin part. I have pulled loaded 24' goosenecks with no brakes and while they were not easy to stop it didnt seem all that much harder than the bed full of feed.

162 cottage blocks in one load. just leveled her out.
2 yards of damp topsoil, 5200 lbs according to the scale at the dirt yard. about a 1" squat, below level. Good thing is I only had 6 miles to go. As far as stopping, an exhaust brake makes a lot of difference.

Had 5000 lbs of sand in the bed a couple of times (was hauling it for a friend ) That squatted it down pretty good. It wasn't on the bump stops but it was only a couple of inches away. The ride was nice and smooth though .

Just this last weekend I put 32 80lb bags of quickrete in the bed for 2560 lbs. Sat the truck just about level. The truck didn't care and rode and drove like a dream. Stopped equally as well. Makes me love this new one even more. It was also the first load heavy enough to get the truck to puff a good cloud of smoke. I drove the heck out of it for a few miles enjoying the black clouds of fun!

It has a southbend con O in it now, but I'm over the rating (hasn't slipped yet). Saving up for a dual disk.
It drives great. I really need to get some governor springs because when you're on it hard you run out of rpm too quick.
I do mostly city driving on a daily basis and average about 15.5. When i get out on the highway avg is 18. 4.10 gears
