Another way to total a trailer..........

Found all the caulking on the roof of my late 80's Alpenlite is curling up like bacon. Found some water intrusion around the back skylite/vent. Peeling it all off and replacing with Lexel. Makes silly-cone look like plumbers putty.

one of the guys around here uses dicor, its a lap sealant. its designed for rubber roofs. works great for everything though. its like a white liquid bubblegum. lol

Lexel is about the stickiest stuff I've had to deal with. It goes on pretty wet, will self level, tools well, and dries to a very flexible, yet paintable finish.

It will even work in the rain if needed.

The stuff I'm peeling off looks like it went on in a uniform bubble gum band about and inch wide. Edges are curling up, trapping water which further opens the seal, eventually making a water trap/funnel that gets things wet inside in a hurry.

Ah, the joys of RV ownership......

Sorry to hear about your loss. I wouldn't have guessed this possible either (the sheer extent of the damage).

Yeah! Already had 4 trips planned that we've had to change or cancel now.

On the bright side, after paying off the camper I got a couple grand in my pocket! So that was nice!
