Trailer Brake Control
Alright this might be a stupid question, but I'm going to ask anyway? Does the 7 prong connector on my truck control the brakes on a trailer in any way other than just the brake lights? There is no "brake controller" on the truck. I've only pulled landscape and other flatbed trailers without brakes so far. We're getting a 30' toy hauler, dual axles and brakes that weighs about 7000lbs and putting another 1600lbs in motorcycles in it. I've got a Reese Class V hitch, is there anything else you would suggest for hauling this set up?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions and help!

Mike, your 7-pin socket will apply voltage to the trailer brakes properly if you connect a brake controller into the under-dash harness; your truck probably came with the factory brake controller harness in the glove box or under the back seat.

I thought the 7 pin applied the brakes somehow for a trailer. Thanks for the help guys. I've ordered a Prodigy with the wiring harness and it should be here Monday.
