Trail Air Hitch!

let me start off by saying, St. Louis to Branson, 4.5 hours, 11.9 MPG, towing a 32 ft 5ver. once at the campground, i took a walk in the mornin with the dog, and saw the swaaeetest pin hitch for a trailer! called a trail air. the pin on the trailer pivots up and down on an air spring to cushion it. slick idea, but once we got home, i couldn't shake it from my head, and had to know. WAY too pricey. 1200 bucks! anybody know where I could get a better price???

The Trail Air works as stated to help the up and down movement between the truck and trailer, but does little for the chucking forward and back unless you are not level - - it can help that. Take a peak at the MORryde rubber kingpin. This addresses the fore/aft chucking by allowing 3" of rubber cushioned movement fore/aft and 2" of side movement. We were very impressed with the reduced harshness of the chucking when we installed it. Runs about $800.
No air bags to pump up and maintain - - put it on and forget it. And, it still gives good results when using the kingpin stabilizer when camped.

FiverBob,

I didn't know that rubber pin box existed... I looked it up, and it looks really cool. Thanks for posting about it.

Jeff,
I had it installed last summer on our way up into the Maritime Provinces. Wow, did it change things inside the truck. MORryde is a neat company.
