BFG Rugged Trail?

I ordered the OWL on/off road tire option on my new 2500 4x4 and it came in with BFG Rugged Trails. Not crazy about the looks of the tread pattern but I am no tire engineer. Was hoping for the Michelin LTX A/Ts which I've heard good things about. Don't know how long they've been out for but are the Rugged Trails a decent handling/stopping tire for mostly on road use, rain / snow?

I'd say you're probably ok.

Re:BFG Rugged Trail?

I have the rugged trail on my RIG.

Work well in the snow and rain. With the snow they seem to self clean ok. Didnt try them in the mud as I dont like getting the Rig dirty.

A little less for traction when the tires are cold. Once warm they behave a little differently.

Very little highway noise, or noise at all for how agressive the tread looks.

If I get 40k miles out of them I will be estatic.

Re:BFG Rugged Trail?

they look like great tires.my buddy just recieved his 03 with these tires on them.he drove to discount tires and bought 285 75 17 bfg all terrain ta.they said they would buy the ones with 18 miles on them for $40.00 each.i said no way,ill give you that if not $50.00 each.great spare set.i have the ltx's on now.i will try to wear them out then mount the bfg's.i like the ride of the ltx's,only wish they would have cleaning lugs on the side.
