Unhappy Towing with the stock hitch work - Questions

I have an 04 Dodge Ram 4x4 SRW/LB. I recently sold my 24ft Ragen' toy hauler and purchased a new 34ft toy hauler. The Ragen had a GVWR of about 10K but the newer larger toy hauler has a gross of 15K. When full, I figure that I'll be in the range of about 12 - 13K (2K under the toyhaulers limit ). I know that the truck will handle it, but I'm a scratch worried about the hitch. I have read several threads that talk about 12K for a class IV, and several that talked about a 10K rating. Are there class V's available, and/or, will our hitch do?

Obviously I'm running full EaZ lift hitch work with 1400lbs leveler bars. Loaded the tounge weight is around 980lbs.

Help!!!

If it's not an ok setup, How much is it going to cost me, and where do I go?

Thanks for the help guys.

Reese make a 15k titan setup. uses,I beleive, a 2 1/2 inch receiver. On thier web site about $900 or so. Also try hitches for less, nice people and great prices and service.

My trailer has weighed in at around 12,000lb a couple of times and I had no problems. My only concern was that the trailer tires were squating a bit more than I felt comfortable with but mine's only a 9990 gvw trailer...

actually i think he's freaking at the weight. i haul a 30' WW on the factory hitch. use a hensley arrow and a straight bar. gross on the trailer is 13000. with 110 gal of water in the fresh tank it barely gets to the overloads. haven't scaled the tongue but it can't be too far out, i check for signs of checking and cracks before each trip and so far none to report. not saying you can put anything you want on the hitch but it's not going to fail in 30 minutes either.

I pull a gear box with the factory hitch no problem, take some mesurments of the factory hitch, then compare it to some sold that are suposably higher weight ratings, and you will find many are thiner smaller and cheaper in construction. Thats what i observed anyway.
