towing with 315's

I can seem to get the new toy hauler moving (#9000 loaded) from a stand still.
Will changing from 373's to 411's make much of a diff in getting things goin with the 315's?

Thanks Mooseman

315s

Here are photos with my old 2004.5 with 315s with 410s. I had no trouble. There were a few inclines in a campground on the BlueRidge Parkway that I stopped on that did not think I would get back started. A lot of that was the TC.

DanTana,

That's a nice looking rig. How do you like that Day Dreamer? I'm looking at a Sunnybrook Titan LX and a NuWa Discover America for my next coach.

Day Dreamer

We have had a few small issues. Nothing that the dealer has not jumped on and fixed. We like the twin a/c's and the big windows on the passenger side.

With the set up you have you should have no problems getting 9k moving. If you can't get it moving I would think you have other problems.

I have to agree with Buckshot here. I had a stock 24v that had no problems with 9k.

just git yerself a couple of them there weiner dawgs like them there in dantanas picture and hook em to the front bumper that oughta do er.

Really though. I can't imagine you should need the 4.10s to get moving. Mine doesn't pull immediately, but, as soon as that boost starts to show about 6 or 7 pounds, she pulls like mad. I just got my Goerend converter in a couple weeks ago and I had my camper hooked up. My dad was with me, so I turned the juice up to level five at a stoplight. I accelerated to about 50mph and let off. My dad looks over at me and says "wow, I think it accelerates as fast as my tahoe ('03) with nothin' behind it." I just smiled.
By the way, I have 315s and 3.73s.

I've got 4.10s with the 6 speed and I like it for towing. I can keep the truck in 6th almost all the time on the highway without lugging it. I just wish I had a 7th gear for highway cruising unloaded!

Today I found something interesting with my truck. The glove box tag that says I have 373's is wrong. I found out today that I have 355's after all the axle tags, codes were researched and teeth were counted.
410s really aught tomake a diff. in towing now.

3.73's weren't offered until 03 if I'm not mistaken. You should have 3.55's like me.

DanTana, the pull up 321 to Blowing Rock is rough from the construction. Last Saturday I pulled my 35" Cedar Creek up the mountain to West Jefferson.

That last uphill stretch by the old 50 mile view motel ran the temps up quick. I wish I had a new torque converter that pulled better.

I pull 10-11,000 lbs fairly regular and I only have 3:55's spinning my 315's.

Getting it going is not a problem at all and keeping it going is even easier. Sure, 4:10's would probably be better, but they are not necessarily needed.

I just changed out my 3.55's for 4.10's. The 3.55's would pull my 10K toy hauler ok but the long hills I did not like. My temps shot up quick and I could tell it was hard on the truck. I will get to try out the new 4.10's this weekend so i'll let you know what I think of them. Will see if it was money well spent

3.55's to 4.10's will be like night and day. You're going to love the new found power!
