I'm reading the Toyo's are made in China. Might be good but I'm not buying Chinese. Nitto's are at least Japanese. Coopers are USA as far as I know. I'm reading good reports on the AT3's

My Nitto's have "made in the USA" on the sidewall.

Nitto is part of the Toyo Tire. They did manufacture tires in China but since moved production back to Japan and the US.

I bought my Christmas present about a week ago. I purchased 6 of these http://www.michelinman.com/tire-sele...2/tire-details

So far so good with these tires. They ride great while bobtailing and while loaded grossing 34K LBS. They also do very well in the 1' of mud most of the rig sites I've been to lately are covered with. They're also quiet while cruising down the highway. I know a few other Hot Shotters that are running these same tires and they're getting 70K-90K miles from them. I think I have found my new favorite light truck tire.

The guys I've talked to around town, or out at rigs, are also pleased with the AT/2, Delmar. I have heard they can take a few thousand miles to settle in after being a bit squirrelly at first.

What part of the state do you run?

I don't know what ya mean by "squirrelly"??? I didn't realize how bad the stock General tires were until I installed these tires. Truck rides way better bobtail and loaded. I keep all six of them at 80 psi at ambient temp.

Most of my runs are down around the Laredo area close to the border and up in East Texas around Longview/Carthage. I hit Louisiana and Oklahoma from time to time also.

Steering feels vague, disconnected. This is on SRW with TT's primarily. Goes away after a few thousand. Tire pressure, hitch rigging, etc, is not the cause (nor are steering mechanical issues). It's not the only tire, and I try to keep up. If I have to have a tire not optimized for highway running, sticking with Michelin is high on the list (beside the Duravis models above).

I'm getting set to get on in the Eagle Ford somewhere, shortly. But I expect it to be big trucks exclusively. Take care.

my new tires

Ok, i pulled the trigger on these. Mastercraft AT/2's by Cooper. USA made and I'm told by other owners they are getting around 60k on them. Put them on new wheels by Pacer also. 12mm offsets allowed for wider than stock tires. So far I like them on the highway and at my farm. My local guy got me out the door for $1350.
