Thinkin about a new toy hauler

I know "BEST" is dependent on preferences but just wondering what you guys would think would be the best brand/model for my needs?
My 2 daughters and son in laws all ride dirt bikes. What I'd like to get is a toy hauler that can carry at least 5 bikes.
Must be easy to clean i.e. "No carpet".
5th wheel is my preferred hookup.
Don't want to spend a fortune on a bunch of fake wood cabinets. My Montana has those "so-called" upgraded cabinets. 100% cheap crap that just looks good on the outside.
Durable!! A friend had a Wanderer that evidently got a water leak in the roof towards the front that went undetected and eventually caused the siding to pull away from the framing up front thus causing a big section to break away. Since then I've seen several just like his. Folks have a sheet of plywood screwed on over the hole and siding. I don't want that!!!
Thoughts and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Check on Heartland, Mine has a 12' garage. Plenty of room for bikes. I really love the fit and finish. Dont know if you want new or used , but either can be had these days.

Best to you and good luck on your hunt.

Good luck. They all have cheap cabinets and are cheaply made. Even the ultra expensive are porely made they just try and convinse you they are not. I have a 06 Cherokee Wolf Pack that I bought new and it has been OK but it has all the same cheap build feachers as all the rest.

By the looks of the last picture, your rig stood up pretty good for being on its side. J/K.

To the OP...you really have to do your homework on whats out there. Be sure to check the axles and tires/wheels. I hauled a few 40 footers that had 15" tires/wheels with 5200 lb axles under them.

I second that and not by what it says on the vin. I recently bought a 36 foot 5ver checked the vin as there was snow on the ground. Vin said 6000lb axles with 16 inch wheels. I loaded the trailer accordingly. 3 months later I get new vin stickers in the mail with no explanation so I compare the vin stickers and the axles are now rated at 5200lbs and the GVWR is reduced by 1600lbs. I scamper under the trailer and sure enough 5200lb axles. I now think I have bent the rear axle from over loading as I am seeing tire wear on the inside. The dealer says talk to the factory. I talk to the factory and they say they will not pay for 6000lb axles. I want 6000lb axles so I ordered some locally and will change them out once the weather improves. $800 poorer because I didn't want to lie in the snow when I bought it. We are not done yet though.

I have no neck so my head will not move. Go back to your KOMODO MOBILE.

I hauled one rig that had different ratings on the sticker and on the title.
I got tagged at the Sparwood scales for overweight on the truck. Two axles on the sticker. Three axles on the title. Two under the trailer, both 7K and 16" wheels but it was supposed to have three of them. The mounts and all the wiring etc was all there for the third axle. You could contact Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
That is what the BCDOT did as the trailer was labeled incorrectly and the documentation was incorrect.

Not sure if you want to do this or not...or if its too late...look at disk brakes and independent suspension. Just thinking how you might as well make it work for you in a good way. Check state side. Half the price of up here.

I plan to talk with the dealer first but if no joy I will go further. I picked up the axles from a local manufacturer the day before the snow, got them home but discovered one had been dropped off the fork lift and flattened the brake backing plates against the drums. I took it back and they fixed it up but too late to get them changed now until spring. I did think about going with discs and found a set of take offs in the Calgary area but at the time I was planning to get them changed before the snow so I just ordered drums again. The other thing I wasn't sure if the integrated brake controller on the 2011 would work electric over hydraulic.

I pull a Work & Play by Forest River 5'er. They are made by their cargo trailer division so they have a solid frame and torsion axles. Mine is 34' with a 13.5' seperate garage. It's heavy but solid.

Yea I do like the Work & Play units. I saw one at a race last yr. Fell in love with it!!! I forgot about those things!!
The guy had put those tie down rails in the floor the full length of the garage. He could put anything anywhere in there. He also mounted a couple of rollaway toolboxes (minus the castors) in the front of the garage. That thing was awesome!!!!

Cool Older toy hauler

Ron;
We have a 2000 21' Toy Hauler by Forest River. We use the aft 8' of it to put our stock into shelves that our son built on each side for us. This carries our products to car shows and swap meets. We have a full bath with shower, toilet, sink etc. Full kitchen and we sleep on the two couches.
Have added a T.V. to the shelves with a swivel and bungee it back (stow it) to the shelf when moving. Have a 7500W portable Gen. This is used at a site that has no power. I added a 12V hoist to the bottom of the O/H bed (we don't use, put some light weight stock up there). That helps us get the gen up and down the aft door ramp. These simple mods work very well for us. I am 70, the wife (boss) is 69 years young. These have been small but effictive mods that have helped us. It is amazing what a usefull trailer and how effecient it is. We had a 38' Diesel pusher and pulled a 24' box trailer. Had a Jimmey inside the trailer plus stock. We can set up and brake down this trailer in 1/2 the time it took us with the big MH.
Good luck on your search.
Merry Christmas & Happy and safe New Years.

Carriage has consistently made one of the best fifth wheels out there. Regretfully they just joined several other quality fiver makers in the pangs of going under. They made a TH called the CForce that was very nice, excellent frame (made by Carriage), aluminum framed walls (not bonded walls that delaminate), aluminum trussed roof system with plywood, good cabinetry (made by Carriage). If you could find one, take a peak -- they are nice and should hold up well.

Check out millennium trailers w/living quarters. I was quoted 34k for a 36' Gn loaded with living quarters & 17' garage. They are the race car hauler style...you get a heavier duty trailer for a heck of a price.

If you want a fantastic trailer built in any config you can imagine checkout TPD www.tpdtrailers.com
Square tube frame, one piece floor, walls, roof, etc with FRP (fiberglass reinforced plywood I think?) I had a 24' enclosed trailer and sold it, now we're designing a toy hauler in the 37'-38' range with ~20' of open storage area. I have no interest in the company, but they're the nicest peeps and a small company.
