Tire weight question

I was looking at a truck camper and was wondering how much weight I could safely handle in the bed of my truck. Is the weight rating listed on the tires per side or is that total?
I have E rated tires but I don't know if that is what I can hold or if that is 1/2 what I can carry.

Thanks...

That weight is per tire, so basic E rated 245-75-16 have a ratting of 3042 each i believe so you have a total of 6,084 capacity on the tires

The rating on the tire is what that tire can hold. A single rear wheel truck with 3000# rated tires can carry 6000# on the rear axle as long as each individual tire's load does not exceed 3000#.

The cargo load will be less than the total weight rating of the tires. And that weigh rating is at the maximum rated tire pressure.
