Refrigerator Coil Fan
I just installed a coil fan behind our refrigerator, very easy job, made a big difference keeping the temperature down in this hot weather we've been having.

I bought a 12V PC fan and a toggle switch. Mounted the fan in the coils with tie wraps. There is a 12V connection in the electric section. About $10, for the fan, as I remember. Turn it on for summer, not needed for winter. Turn it off, when not in use.

I have installed this same fan on our last two 5th wheels including the one we have now. I mounted mine as high up in the compartment as possible for more ventilation. I wired mine so that it bypasses the thermostat and comes on when the switch is turned on. It has been getting a good workout this Summer down here in Texas.

Yep, I mounted mine at the top of the flue to help exhaust the heat. It is thermostaticly controlled and comes on in ambient air temps of about 80 degrees. Works great.
I, also, placed a piece of double-sided tape on the cooling fin where the "thermosistor" is attached. Then I slip the thermosistor into place onto the fin. The double sided tape keeps the thermosister from moving in transit and keeps the regrig nice and cold. phillip

Last night a friend gave me a 12V PC fan so I mounted it next to the fan I bought, it doesn't come close to moving as much air as the fan I bought, maybe moves 1/4 the air and thats being kind. But it's in so it will stay there, I'll put a switch on both of them and use the PC fan only in fall and spring and the better fan in the summer, works for me.
