My door pillar says at max load, use 65 psi front, 60 psi rear.

Everyone runs different pressures its all based on experience.....and if you have changed tire size the door sticker would be wrong

I tow a heavy trailer and have larger tires on my truck so I use the pressure stated on the tire side wall.....I don't readjust tire pressure for empty and loaded running I keep it the same always and I have good tire wear

I'm a firm believer that the tire manufacture would know more about what tire pressure is best in their tires then the truck builder does

The door jamb tells you what PSI to run it for the GVWR or GAWR.

So I have an empty pick up bed, and "Discount Tire" insists putting 80 PSI in my rear tires because thats how the truck was "designed".

You can find load range charts for every tire and it'll tell you the max. weight @ what PSI. What I'm not sure of, is how much above that do you want to be?

Here's one for 265/75/16 LR E's, not sure if it is accurate because I didn't get it on any manufacturer's website.

I run all six at 80psi year round empty or towing. Nice flat, even wear on the Michelin LTX M/S.
