Tips on locating a semi rare D70 axle?

Im looking for a D70 from a ford e350 SRW cutaway cube van with rear tank.

The cutaways with rear fuel tanks had a wider D70. From the regular 66.4" (hub face to hub face) to SRW cutaway with rear tank of 72.1"

Can anyone give me tips on locating this axle other than physically walking local junkyards?

Do the junkyards have a nation wide searchable data base for locating parts?

junkyarddog.com sends your request out to junkyards nationwide. Don't give them your phone number without expecting a dozen calls in the next day and a half.

Thanks..

I submitted a very detailed description of the D70 axle I need and received five generic emails.. All of them saying..

"We might have it.. Call us.."

If I call them, will they give my number to others?

You didn't specify a year, so I grabbed 1997 at random, found a few that I think you are referring to.

Look here, fill out the specifics as best you can, should show you what you need. I also use this for cross year parts applications.

Thanks Patdaly.. I'm looking for a 1999+ with the disk brakes to replace my drums on my 1995.

Funny.. The list of axles on http://www.car-part.com for econoline's don't mention anything about the rear tank wide 72.1" axles..

Have you physically seen a D70 in a 99 with discs? Ford was really good about mixing manufacturers parts in different model years, so perhaps that axle is a Sterling.

Unless of course you know they made one.

Past car-part I have no other advice to offer.

I have a Dana 61 (housing stamped as a HD 60) I can check the dimensions on it tomorrow if you're interested. It is a 4:10 LS the clutch-pack was rebuilt prior to installing the disc brakes on it. My so called friend never paid me for it so it has set in the shed for a while..
